Shakti Rowan has been dancing and singing around the fires of devotion most of her life. Being raised in an earth based spiritual tradition, Shakti was steeped in the joys of living in a community that celebrated and worshipped through playing live music, dancing together and singing the names of the divine in devotion.
Shakti has studied various froms of dance over the years and feels most at home dancing spontaneously when the spark of improvisation moves her. Shakti has studied Middle Eastern Dance, African Dance and Kathak. Shakti is a certified Kripalu DansKinetics® teacher. Shakti studied with Gabriel Roth and Daniel Levine at Kripalu.
Shakti has taught Middle Eastern Dance and led various form of movement exploration classes. She is currently exploring what comes next in her movement journey and teaching, although she is not teaching any classes regularly at this time.
